Slightly Stupid, Quite Stupid and Really Stupid

Three stories reported over two days by BBC News.

Slightly stupid is an elderly couple who parked their Ford Fiesta somewhere near Cheltenham Hospital but can't remember where - it is still missing.

Quite Stupid (unless it was a mechanical problem but it almost certainly wasn't) was at least one of the drivers of these two wrecked sports cars:
They crashed at a roundabout in Sheffield.  Looking at the damage, speed must have played a factor.  And for a Ferrari 458 and a Porsche 718 (or Cayman to us old-fashioned people) to both be involved makes me think they may have been known to each other.

But really stupid is this woman in Plymouth who thought she could drive through a lot of runners taking part in a half-marathon.

Braking News

The Ford Ecosport is being recalled!
For those of you not familiar with this vehicle, it's an American car that always gets me briefly excited before I realise it doesn't say "Escort".

Actually, it's an SUV and therefore very un-exciting.

Autoguide have the story of the recall here.

Apparently, around 273 of these SUVs have been supplied with European User Manuals and fitted with European brake fluid reservoir caps!
Oh no!  That's illegal apparently.

The good news is that, "Ford dealers will replace the brake fluid reservoir cap and owners’ manual kit with the proper US versions free of charge"

Why not just post them out?

What's the worst that can happen?  Some Americans get confused between US and Imperial Gallons?

Meanwhile, in a Ford Galaxy, Far, Far Away...

No it bloody wouldn't!  That's a Nissan!

And, worse than that - it's an SUV!

Wouldn't fancy taking that down the local high street, the view out is abysmal:
Also, I'd always assumed the MF was right-hand drive, like the USS Enterprise.  I thought Chewbacca was the driver.

Meanwhile, the Minecraft Millennium Falcon looks like an Oreo.
It's probably actually very clever - I'm not sure because I never ventured beyond Lego.  The info is here.

Meanwhile, back to Nissan:  What has Star Wars got to do with a Nissan X-Trail (for that is what that car really is) anyway?  Surely they'd be better with a Ford Falcon - especially a late '70s version from when Star Wars was good:
Ah, well there's the clever bit.  In the US, the X-Trail is called The Rogue - as in Star Wars Rogue One - Geddit?

Meanwhile, back to the '70s when Star Wars was good (Phantom Menace put me off for ever) - another Japanese manufacturer produced a special Star Wars themed car, I give you the Toyota Celica GT - Star Wars Special:
Nice.

Unlike the Nissan.

Last week, on Star Wars day, Car+Driver ran with this story about that car.  Today, nobody knows what happened to it.

Unusually for a Japanese car, I suspect it has broken down somewhere:

New All-Electric BMW

It must be a slow-news day.

Autoguide have gone with "BMW has Created its Own Segway" - a story about an electric tray with bicycle handlebars that BMW employees can use to get about the factory.  You can only tell it is a BMW by the badge on this embarrassed employee's overalls.
He must be going somewhere important with that huge wrench in his shopping basket.

It looks like it is hovering but, as the story tells us, it is driven by a front single wheel and has casters at the corners to stop it tipping over if you take a corner too fast.

So basically, it's a mobility scooter that you have to stand up on.

Autoguide are also covering a non-story from Rolls-Royce today but I'll link to Autocar on this one because they have the more bland headline - "Rolls-Royce Cullinan: new official picture shows tail-light detail"

Here it is:
It reminds me of a sad dog.
