Black and Blue

Remember just last month when I said that Red was the new Black?

Well according to this Auto Express article, Rolls Royce say that black can be improved by blue.

Bruising.

But they must be right because their limited edition of 62 Rolls-Royce Black Badge Cullinan Blue Shadows have sold out.

Now if you think that name is a juxtaposition, take a read of this AutoGuide story.

Here are two words that should never appear together:

The original iQ wasn't brilliant either. I suspect it wouldn't be difficult to tell it apart from the Caddy version though.

Not Fine Parking

May must be motoring offences month with two more stories from the BBC today.

The first one involves lots of people in High Wycombe parking where they shouldn't.

In a car park.

And they weren't told that they shouldn't park there.

And in reality, it was only a small corner of the car park that they shouldn't have parked in.

So some sad traffic warden has wasted a few hours doing this:

All tickets were rescinded - the story is here.

While up in Scotland - on a roundabout clearly marked with Police "No Waiting" cones, somebody has parked there anyway - on top of a steel drum:
That story is here - it was a stolen car.

Can't tell if the car was damaged or not - I would suspect it has been.

But if it hasn't been then that is a bit of very impressive parking.

And they have avoided getting a ticket.

Spinning Wheels

Talking of motoring misdemeanours, the BBC have reported two more this week:

They state that CCTV footage was used as "evidence confirming the lack of control by the driver."

Actually, I think it confirms total control by the driver.  I agree he shouldn't have done it and it is correct that he was fined.  But wow.

Meanwhile, this "unsafe lane change" was very accurately described:

Justin Case

Actually, it's Justin's Court Case.

Penny Mordaunt really annoys me.

She's a rabid Tory but I still fancy her.

Here she is playing an important part at The Coronation:

Although arguably not as important a part as this chap's:
And he has a better frock.

It has been a busy week for The Archbishop of Canterbury.  First he had to crown King Charles III.  Then he had to hear about getting 3 points on his licence and a £510 fine.

He was caught driving his Volkswagen Golf at 25mph in a 20mph zone - which is probably very racy for an archbishop.

I hope this doesn't overshadow The Coronation.

After all the careful preparations, a perpetrator of misdemeanours would not look good in The Abbey.

Has the shooter been charged?

Not yet - and we don't know if his car has been either.

I'd seen this story on drive.com.au and was planning a light-hearted little post about it - "Two Tesla drivers have been involved in a skirmish – with one driver shot after being sprayed with mace – during a dispute at a charging station near Denver, Colorado."

Maybe I'd have done something about mild-mannered electric car drivers or perhaps something about the ridiculous number of shootings that happen every day in America.

Unfortunately, when I researched this a little further, it became clear that no only was his car charged (he drove away) but the other man died of his injuries.  ABC have the latest here.  Not really "a skirmish" then.

Lucky 7

To quote the recently deceased Len Goodman,

"Seven!"

I wonder if he was a Lotus fan?  They are all about lightness.

Remember the Lotus 7?

When that went out of production, the design was licenced and taken on by both Kit-Car companies and proper manufacturers such as Westfield:
But the company that really made a go of it was Caterham:
They have been producing these for decades now.  So maybe time to try something new?

Well, according to Autocar, they are trying something new.

Lotus, in the meantime, found a hit with The Elise:
That went on to be used as the base for the electric Tesla Roadster:
And the insane Hennesey Venom:
So, what do we know about the forthcoming Caterham?

Will it be dancing to a different tune?

I'll leave it to you to decide:
