Not A1

 Take a look at this:

It's happened before that people making a film about how a road is an accident blackspot have managed to capture some live evidence.

The BBC managed it here.

There is so much wrong in this scenario and while the Seat driver will get the blame - after all the Seat went in to the Tesla - the Tesla I think is actually at fault.

Firstly, why are they driving along in the overtaking lane?  And then why slow down?  And why no brake lights?  Do you not get brake lights if using regen braking?  I don't actually know the answer to that but there is a major design fault there if you don't.

I'm assuming they slowed down to let the little grey car (Peugeot?) onto the A1.  Did they flash to say join?  If so, that's not what a flash of the headlights means.  As with any such junction, it is up to the vehicle joining to make sure it is safe, not for others to let them in (although there is nothing wrong with a little road courtesy when it is safe to do so)  And that little grey car will have been extra cautious after already having crossed one carriageway of an obviously very busy A-Road.

And that road layout is bloody dangerous!

But then that was what they were trying to prove.

A spokesman for National Highways is quoted as saying, "We'll continue to keep the safety on the stretch of road under continual review and work with the local community on any future safety improvements."

Oh, well, all's well that ends well.  Nothing to see here.

Apart from an accident every week.

Leon All Messy

I'm not really into car air fresheners.  But I suppose that they are less offensive than cigarette smoke.

Your average smoker probably doesn't even realise how bad the smell is.

The owner of the Seat Leon in this BBC story though decided to spray the interior of his car BEFORE he lit up.

Lord knows how bad it must have smelt for a smoker to think it needed improvement.

And an awful lot of air freshener at that.
Enough to blow his car up.  The explosion "blew out the windscreen and windows and buckled the doors but the man escaped with only minor injuries."

Looks even worse than that to me:
Bet it doesn't smell of cigarettes now though.

Norfolk AGAIN!

Maybe the Norfolk Police are more media savvy than other police forces.

Or maybe a lot of idiots live in Norfolk.

Here is today's picture:
The story is here and tells of a driver stopped for "erratic driving" who had no tyre on the front wheel.  He's hardly got any wheel left on the front wheel.  Breathalyser readings showed more than three times the drink-drive limit so that could explain a few things.

I've decided that it's an old Seat Leon.

This is on the back of my most recent Norfolk story - which listed previous ones therein.

This particular story keeps going partly due to the media's fascination with Royals and also due to this woman who broke her wrist when The Duke of Edinburgh's Land Rover collided with the car she was in:
She has been cashing in big style since the accident appearing on Good Morning and selling stories to The Mirror.  I've not heard much of the driver or her baby who was also in the car he hit.

I suppose she couldn't sell out to The Sun because that it what The Duke is blaming for the crash.

Meanwhile her name is Emma FAIRWEATHER.
